If your site isn't on the first page, it may as well not exist. In fact, if you aren't first you are missing out on a lot of traffic. To clarify, the first link receives 33% of all search traffic and second spot drops to 17.6%. The last link on the first page only attributes 3.5% of all traffic. It is our opinion that content marketing is just as important as SEO. While being on the first page is vital, having good content is just as vital. Good content will reduce bounce rate and lengthen the amount of time people spend on the site. Providing quality content does not mean sacrificing SEO, it actually promotes it! If your content is good, search engines will find it.
Content comes in several forms including text, photos and images, and videos. Text is important because it is what google bases its crawls on. This is where you can optimize your content for your targeted keywords.
Photos can also help with SEO as long as they have been titled correctly. Photos are also a great way to showcase your work or services. Good photography can be very engaging and lengthen duration of the visit. They are a great way to break up the text and give the page visual appeal.
When it comes to quality content, video is king. Video is the most engaging form of media. Because Google owns Youtube, video is highly favored on sites. In fact, having a video on your home page makes it 50 times more likely to appear on the front page of Google. When a site contains a video, people stay for an average of two minutes longer. To sum it up, video is about the best thing for any website.
